Well, here I am! Remembering so many rather humorous family incidents so I thought I would share. I have a friend, Ruth, who writes a blog every day so that her grandchildren can remember who she is and what she and her husband are/were all about. Ruth and I worked together in Galveston, Texas, in Child Psychiatry in about 1964. It is amazing that we still connect and are both still incredibly gorgeous and smart! Her husband's intellect puts me to shame. I also have a friend who is an actor, a writer, a second grade teacher, a wife and a mother -- and incredible person. Most of my writing skills, lowly as they may be, are due to having worked at various places with folks who had been English majors. So, thus begin, April 28, 2017, my attempts at writing as the youthful age of 75!
A bit about myself: I am a retired Registered Occupational Therapist - my degree is from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. As an OTR, I have worked in Child Psychiatrty, Geriatric and Adult and Adolescent Psychiatry. I have also worked as a consultant in Nursing Homes (now called "Supported Living"). And in hospitals and rehabilitation for folks with orthopedic issues, strokes, and other cognitive issues. I taught Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants in three locations - wonderful adult learners, creative and joyful folks.
Now, as I seem unable to slow down (could I have been one of the original ADHD people??), currently I am an "Artist in Residence" at a local small Catholic Elementary School. Another great fun experience!
I am not sure how to set this up?? Or how to tell readers this -- try tyo write me back!👵 This is me - but I do wear glasses!
